During my time there I took the first PA qualification in Guernsey, my HR qualification and also qualified as a Legal PA. Find yourself a mentor that you look up to. We are also keen to promote the PA profession in any way we can. How did you promote the network? I would also recommend joining a local PA network.

Previous to this I worked in such roles as Secretary to a group of Consultants, Marketing Assistant for an Architect firm, Facilities Coordinator for a construction company and Purchase Ledger for NHS Legal department just to name a few. How did you promote the network? Amy : I am a OneNote advocate! I have everything in my OneNote.

If you can prove yourself as a good worker you can go up through the ranks and because they already know how you work, they are more apt to promote you. If a more experienced assistant comes alongside you and provides mentoring - dont refuse it. I am not a legal expert and do not claim to give any legal advice.

Or they will say they want people to be in the training program or how previous assistants have gotten promoted after a couple of years if they were the right fit. They also travel a lot all over the world. There are those bosses that will promote you and help you out as much as possible.

However, realize you may only get a portion of the truth because if someone is terrible, they are not allowed to say they were terrible for legal reasons, etc. Successful executives are rarely lazy and slow if they earned their title from being promoted through hard work and not nepotism, etc. They can ask: What hours can you work?
