Here are some tips as your career progresses that will affect how you job hunt. The lower-level admin you are the more jobs there are. Those jobs support the President, CEO, CTO, CFO, and Chairman. Your job hunt will take a lot longer. Job hunt with focus. Make a decision.

And is there a point in expending so much energy in a life-long project that may not have any positive benefit? I'm temping. I have turned down the Fortune 75 companies because the two jobs weren't right for me. For some reason, the job hunt doesn't bother me. The question I'm really asking is, "Do I need to blog?"

Despite never having any background or experience in recruiting, I was offered a four-month contract job as a senior coordinator which I happily took. The great thing about the job is I learned what it's like to be on the other side. I loved being a cheerleader for the company and helping people get hired.

I thoroughly enjoy the diversity of these positions, the project management, and the role of admin support. Temp, volunteer, apply for PT work and list that as your present role. While your ultimate goal is FT job in admin, the only thing that will get you there is recent experience in admin - the good ol' fashioned catch-22.

If I had more work to do and would be learning along the way, I would stay. I knew I didn’t want to job hunt for more than 6-9 months if I didn’t have to. And as I was working, job hunting and/or temping, I had to find other sources of happiness. I’m not sure how your job hunting experience was.
