Keyboard Maestro: Last year I was going to dedicate my “Journey to…” series to this app. ThisLife: I need to manage my photos better in 2013, and ThisLife may very well be the ticket to doing that. I’ll spend some more time with it – especially now with its recent update. I’ll be giving this app far more attention in 2013.

I’ll have two versions of my personal task manager with me in OmniFocus (the same goes for Asana) and my writing won’t suffer with both Drafts and Byword installed on both devices. I also love my original Zaggmate keyboard. I have the same, plus tote around my early 2008 MBP, which still functions great after upgrades.

In the Advanced/General preferences panel, you can set Postbox to use Gmail’s keyboard shortcuts and you can also create events within Google Calendar for detected dates. As many of you may know, I’m not a fan of using your e-mail app to manage your tasks. If you’re a big Gmail user, then Postbox has you covered. Postbox is rubbish.

You bashed monsters by hitting keys on your keyboard whilst wondering if you could hook up a nodding bird à la Homer Simpson. Griffin – Drool and keyboards don’t mix. But I managed to finish the project by self-discipline. To get to the next level, you needed experience points. You bashed monsters for hours.

It’s fun, but it’s not like I sit at my keyboard, occasionally throwing my arms into the air and squealing, “Wheeeeeee! Weird I’ve never heard of you Josh, how the hell did you manage to fly past my radar at 6’8 while carrying around your huge metal balls? “That’s what I want.” I’m writing!”
