Downside: Keying in information on more than a handful of forms, let alone 50 forms, is a recipe for mistakes.

I use the website all the time, not just for planning travel but also for expenses, so it is helpful having the app on my phone. Hand over the iPad to a guest who can then fill in a form with their details, take a photo and sign an agreement.

  Even if you are not the most technical person on your block, you probably have some form of technology in your life that you love.  My scanner serves all these purposes -- scan a document in and you can then e-fax it over the internet, print out a copy, edit it directly through OCR software, save it as a PDF and toss the paper.
