When people would ask me in interviews, my first answer was, “No nepotism here!” I found every single one of my jobs through a temping agency or by referral.

Now, I think its time I gave some pointers to interviewers. Rules for being a good hiring manager/interviewer: 1. Dont invite someone for an interview and then show them to an office that looks like a landfill and hasnt had an uncluttered chair since 1995. What are some other rules interviewers should follow?

I was stressed out from the pace of work and also the length of a couple of special projects with a long lead time. We also get a mini break when our boss is traveling as the stress level is generally lower and we can catch up on our workload. A week or two ago, it was one of those weeks where my brain just felt tired.

I hated the mental stress and burden of putting everyone else first and getting only the usual thank you’s and words of appreciation. I started this blog while temping/job hunting and I was allowed to write or do personal side projects as long as it was not interfering with my work. I also had to listen in interviews really well.

When you interview for new jobs, do your yearly job performance reviews, network, or whenever appropriate, make it clear you have bigger goals. The goal is to go from a busy role to one that is absolutely crazy insane busy and stressful to prove you can do it. 2) Make it clear you have bigger goals. When you job hunt keep this in mind.
