Ebooks They are simplest to build, because they involve mostly writing. As a rule of thumb, an ebook should provide more information than a blog post, or a series of blog posts. Ebooks can be both paid and free. I don’t think you should focus more on the problem solved by that ebook than on its price. write some ebooks.

I always enjoyed watching nature and travel shows because the hosts seemed like the luckiest people in the world to me. They could travel all around the world, do fun stuff and get paid for enjoying their lives. Get business training too, you will need to know about accounts, management etc. Now that’s what I call life!

In January 2010 I wrote an entire ebook based on this post (an ebook which still sells, by the way) and in February I created the printed version of that ebook. It still gets a few hundreds visits every day and to date, is the only post on my blog with more than 1000 retweets. The printed version is available on Amazon.com.

The easiest example for these digital products is an ebook. If you are an experienced writer on your blog, you wouldn’t find it difficult to write an ebook. But digital products are not limited to ebooks. As for the ebooks, I already wrote 4 ebooks and all 4 are still selling. It’s also familiar.

You can offer some assets in exchange to some loyalty: the classical free ebook in exchange of a newsletter subscription. While this may be true, until they don’t make their skills obvious, nobody will even know what they do. A blog is an amazing sales vehicle for anyone with a marketable skill.

I wrote 4 ebooks (all of them with printed versions published on Amazon too) and started 2 live workshops, one on online business and the other one in professional blogging. It’s just a blog.

There are 1-2 ad channels here and there, a free ebook gets readers to sign up for their feed, 2-3 affiliate products and a bunch of amazon links.

For example, investing half an hour daily in writing an ebook will do more for your blog than spending half an hour daily in commenting in other blogs. Your ebook may be lousy and turn into nothing, and one of your random but well written and to the point comments may catch the attention of a book publisher and land you a writing position.
