I always viewed it as a chance to learn first hand from experienced professionals in the business world. I never found it weird or uncomfortable.

First of all, there is not a perfect tool or a perfect system. So, this answer is based on my experimentation with the two main tools the question above refers to - a planner and a tickler file system. Anchor your system one place or the other, whichever seems most natural to you.

  Since Art mentioned he had found a system that worked for him, I asked if he would be willing to share it with me.  I also downloaded a small cell phone application called Jotter. This supersecret email account became the heart of my new productivity system: my task-focused email.
