I do very minimal tasks for him as well and my role description consists of miscellaneous things from issuing credit cards for anyone to issuing cell phones to anyone to ordering catering for anyone in the building to filling the frig in the boardroom when it gets low. You get the point.

In fact, when my kids have homework that starts off with something like “If a train leaves the station and is traveling at 80 m.p.h…” I sort of hear this buzzing sound in my ears and my vision starts to blur around the edges. That means that you mentor others unselfishly, and give credit to others when it is due. Being honest.

Call one of your children on the phone. Find a mentor. Ask questions of mentors and peers. Attend training. Cut up credit cards. Plan your next day’s schedule and prioritized to-do list before you leave work. Do five things every day that forward your No. Spend an hour with your spouse. Take a nap.
