People who spend excessive amounts of time alone tend to suffer from anxiety, stress, and even memory loss. Just kidding… I definitely agree with setting a schedule, though. Just like plants need wind to grow, writers need some reassurance that they are not just going at it alone each time they sit at the keyboard.

Maquis June 28, 2010 at 1:16 am I’ll admit that I’ve definitely learned the hard way that sleep deprivation can be physically painful. But when I’m stressed I wake up around 3.00am with my mind going at a hundred miles an hour and it doesn’t stop until around 5.00am. A few days and quitting doesn’t count.
