After learning coping techniques from Berent, she has learned to change her thought processes. The reason? Well, obviously, shes not professional.

If youre someone else, you may be so busy laughing your ass off at the thought of trusting anyone at work to answer your phone -- let alone tell them your deepest thoughts and feelings -- that you cant think of a single person. Our group has brought me a stronger self-confidence.

Always look for ways to expand your horizons and be able to show an employer how you faced a challenge and learned. Pick up the phone. Use your personal cell phone out of earshot of others. I hope everyone has learned in the last year that leaving your future to fate or in someone else's hands is a move they may regret.

I can interact where I am now, but I have to get up and go if I want to speak with someone and then when I get there I may find they are busy or on the phone so I have wasted my time. Then, I did what I always did: I picked up the phone and started asking experts on how job seekers could succeed in this tough market.
