Do noisy multitasking when on a conference call. Anita: You should never use a cell phone when the person is so close, as in one cubicle away, that they hear your voice better over the cubicle wall than on the phone. Really, I can wait 10 minutes until youre out of the john. Call me as soon as you land.

What better candidate to take on that role as a career, than the assistant who regularly plans events from small meetings to large conferences. Administrative assistants are highly skilled in many areas and sometimes we take it for granted, not recognizing where we could go with our skills.

At the Time, Americans had offices, private offices, and the notion that you would sort of work at a desk without a cubicle wall or something right next to someone else was strange to people, and it really pushed them. I mean, think of a conference room. 20 years ago, everybody walked into the conference room with a notepad.
