Every time an out of office meeting is required, I usually turn to my tried and tested hotel and conference directory. For a lot of companies, setting both internal and external meetings offsite is a good way to inspire creativity in the work place. All of the above need to be considered as well as being cost effective.

Choose a hotel that's close to entertainment such as museums, zoos, parks and restaurants. Hauling small children halfway across the world for a week-long conference probably won't go well if they're not used to traveling. Think about a two-day conference to start until you know how the experience will work. Setting a schedule.

I was not aware there were three main airports in New York City: JFK, LaGuardia and Newark International Airport, and I had him flying into LaGuardia but his hotel room and meeting were right across town (closer to JFK Airport)! do they require a hotel room, restaurant reservations, rental car, meeting room booked etc.?

However if they are badly organised they achieve nothing while costing the company a small fortune. The quiz can be held anywhere, I’ve held them in hotels after a conference and I’ve often included a charity element with raffles and auctions. What are the objectives? They are fab. you should get the pros in.
