Eventually, I decided to change tack and self-publish, selling my book via my speaking engagements and newsletter database. But as discouraging as it was, I kept plugging along, doing more and larger speaking engagements and writing my regular newsletter. I was a no-name, no-fame self-help writer. If only I had a Kardashian surname.

Create your sales page, autoresponder sequence, and promotional emails. Make sure on your sales page you let the participants know that by signing up they’ll also receive a copy of your newsletter. Have your class notes all written out and in front of you, along with teleclass timings.

Admittedly, this form of marketing does not focus entirely on email marketing campaigns, a method which was extremely popular a decade ago. However, there are distinct advantages of using memberships rather than email based marketing. Having a membership site offers you this type of relationship with your customers.
