I have two lovely grandsons so they were definitely going to be in the picture with Granny spending a lot more time with them instead of continually saying "I'll be with you in a minute, I just have one more thing to finish for work" as I madly tried to draft an agenda while babysitting them on the weekend.

A picky manager who gives you more and more complex tasks without showing recognition or proposing you for a promotion, that’s a disempowering person. If it’s a friendship, see if the person at the end is not having any hidden agendas which will break up the validation process at some point. Rewind and start over.
