If you can prove yourself as a good worker you can go up through the ranks and because they already know how you work, they are more apt to promote you. If a more experienced assistant comes alongside you and provides mentoring - dont refuse it. She said it wouldnt look good on my resume if I was seen as a job hopper.

It also looks bad on one’s resume. I can only assume you get one, and there is a section about goals, improvements, things you want to learn/change, or some sort of feedback about maybe even getting promoted out. Volunteer and mentor online by being an email pen pal. It’s a grueling process to keep doing for a year or more.
