Back in 2004, quiet quitting was called “ presenteeism.” The quiet quitters do not feel empowered to assert themselves to their leaders about the root problems, so they justify their mediocre performance with thoughts such as; “ Why should I work so hard? Lots of uncomfortable feelings. In 2022, it is also being called “ghost quitting.”
