Over the past 20 years, I have attended several conferences ranging in topics from fiction writing to motivational to professional training and even a full weekend trying to become a more educated outdoor woman. Make sure you build a good network of friends and a support group. Also, your mental health is very important.

This is where an assistant network can come in handy. I often reach out to my network to get answers to problems that come up at the office or just to lend a sympathetic ear. Having the opportunity to hash it out with another assistant is a great resource. When you leave a job, you dont have to leave your network behind.

Many times the administrative assistant position is a good way into an organization and what a great training ground to know an organizations inner workings than in this profession. I think many university students are seeing the value in having this kind of training. So much is expected of executives these days.
