For me, seasonal overwhelm is a combination of my granddaughter’s soccer practices and games, seasonal activities like apple picking and pumpkin carving parties, increased client projects, and trying to plan for the fast-approaching holiday season. Plus, the end of the fiscal year coincides with the holiday season.

They also walk the fine line of wanting someone who knows the job, but not so well that they are bored and were ready for a promotion 3 years ago. I would ask how long the temp status was for, and negotiate a deal that makes sense for you to not have sick days, paid holidays, benefits, etc. In hindsight, I am 99.9%

Successful executives are rarely lazy and slow if they earned their title from being promoted through hard work and not nepotism, etc. Can you work on weekends and/or holidays? This also could be an objective assessment from anyone. You mentioned: I really would like to align myself with this new senior leader.
