I knew I didn’t want to job hunt for more than 6-9 months if I didn’t have to. It’s a grueling process to keep doing for a year or more. And as I was working, job hunting and/or temping, I had to find other sources of happiness. So I read a lot about happiness, job hunting, and a meaningful life.

My current boss fully supports this, and I would rather be proactive and tell her about my interest rather than applying after she goes through the messy process of terminating the other assistant. And due to outsourcing, Boomers not retiring, and Gen Yers being told (by older generations mind you) to get degrees in their "passion" or that "any degree" is a path to success.you end up with a lot of overworked, underpaid 20somethings.
