This is where an assistant network can come in handy. I often reach out to my network to get answers to problems that come up at the office or just to lend a sympathetic ear. When you leave a job, you dont have to leave your network behind. I finally had a chance to sit down and read your book over the holiday.

I wouldnt recommend talking about a co-worker with someone at the office or it ends up being gossip and spreads a bad feeling about that person. One other thing I’d add for freelancing–and it’s either a pro or a con depending how you look at it–is that you need to build your network of freelancers through professional organizations, meetups or some other way. Over the holidays, my husband had paid time off and I was still typing away. This is a biggie.
