During the holidays it is important to have people in the office to keep things going. Some things that are nice to have on hand are a box of staples, various size clamps, extra pens and some highlighters. You probably have some nice photos from the holidays that you can display as well or cards from friends.

It means the files and books and materials that you’re using for a current project are on the desk, but ones you used for a now-completed project, or that you’ve acquired for future use are stored in drawers or cabinets and not on your desk. You keep your stapler on the desk, but the box of staples is in the cabinet.

I was in back-to-back Committee meetings and I decided to use two different colours of folders, a blue one for the Committee members, with an attendance sheet stapled to the inside cover for my purposes, along with their meeting packages, and a red one for the Chair with everything the Chair was going to need. Try it, you may like it.
