There were no cell phones. Get on a bus and negotiate your arrival later. Information, on the other side, was very expensive. Yet, we almost never get on a bus, ready to negotiate our arrival later on. Information is extremely accessible, while action seems to became the most expensive merchandise in the world.

Depending on the telephone equipment you have it can be hard to hear what everyone is saying especially if the majority are in a large boardroom and the phone is not in the middle of the desk. It is also not ideal for sales pitches or negotiations. This is an additional cost to the equipment itself which is also expensive.
