I traveled the world from Australia to Switzerland, selling tickets and packages to corporate clients for the world’s largest sporting events. I was caught in the middle of a scandal, between one supplier and thousands of people I made promises to. I had a team of employees and $1 million in sales my first year.

As many of you will know, I moved to Barcelona a few years ago to work as an assistant and marketing manager for Gallus Events. When I decided to move to Barcelona and start working for a small and young events company I thought the new stuff I would learn and the experiences I would have would look great on my CV.

Since my boss travels a lot, I take care of his travel expenses and supplier invoices. For instance, once one of my former bosses was on his way to an event and the train was unexpectedly delayed. Can you recommend any events, website, publications for other assistants? . What do you do in your spare time?

As you can imagine I am pretty much surrounded by events 24/7 so it made a lovely change last month when I attended the show simply as a delegate! There were many free training sessions for assistants to attend and the exhibitors were all relevant suppliers to the industry which again is not always the case with these types of events!

I also act as the central point of contact for both Directors which might include meeting clients/suppliers, telephone liaison and managing emails whilst they are away. Both Directors for whom I work are heavily involved with the event, and this has given me the opportunity to assist as well. What do you have for lunch?
