Travel Planning Apps: Whether you’re the one traveling, or simply attempting to get your executive from point A to point B, travel planning apps can be a life saver. Just forward your confirmation emails to the app (hotel, rental car, airline tickets, etc.), I use the Time Zone Converter by TimeAndDate.

Here are a few of my favourites: Travel. This app is slightly more expensive but worth paying for if your manager travels a lot. The app also gives access to real-time departure information, delays and gate numbers. You can set it for your current location or receive alerts from places you are planning to travel too.

Skype allows meetings to take place in multiple locations around the world and the use of tablets means emails can be responded to anytime and anywhere (including the beach!). Not an ideal situation for either of you, especially if you’re on different time zones – the last thing you want is a panicked phone call in the middle of the night!

I had no idea this could be done, but I was thrilled when I got her email, but it just proved to me once again that we are all holding on to things we take for granted that others know about. The tip she sent me was how to edit an email that you have received. Close out of the email and you will be asked to Save the changes.
