If you don't qualify for insurance on your own or lose your job - there is COBRA, your work's insurance plan, or your spouse's. You should have 3 savings accounts - retirement, rainy day, and emergency. Retirement is your 401k, CDs, cash, etc.

I've worked for him for 2 years, and recently I learned his boss is being replaced. This person is not bringing their assistant, and I've learned they will get the assistant to her predecessor.
