The staffing agent asked if I was open to temp to perm, even though the position was for a full time EA, he feels the CEO may need time to see if it is a good fit. I have no idea how long "temp" is considered before they would offer the permanent position. It feels like a bait and switch and there are no guarantees.

I've heard of EAs who are promoted to Operations or Facilities roles later on in their careers but at this point, I am playing both roles. It also costs a lot to hire someone else because finding the time to find the right person and training them is expensive in energy, manpower, resources, and money. It’s because they trust you.

And as I was working, job hunting and/or temping, I had to find other sources of happiness. I also thought about money, salary negotiation, and how I was spending my time. I would rather go to a pilates studio that has classes late at night that fits my work hours vs going to a gym that only costs $30 a month.
