These magical Words of Encouragement at the right time can make all the difference between “keep going” and “give up”. Let them know you care. Get them talking.

I thought she had the potential to be a great assistant except for her low self esteem and she would put herself down when she made a mistake. One day she just up and quit. Lets enjoy our day together.©

Instead of building themselves up, they started tearing their clients down. No telling them that they’re wusses, or cowards, or anything of the kind, even if it’s supposed to fire them up. Go read my blog for a few hours and get psyched up. I like your before/after examples that light up the point. Yes, even in jest.

If you want to impress, you can’t let up as quickly as others. You keep yourself from telling 20 people you are going to do things for them, ending up only doing the things for 5 of them, and instead tell 5 people you will do things for them, and do them a little better than you described.
