I’ve had more mentors than anyone I know. Without a father in my life, I grew up hungry for advice — which gave me a reason to make my relationships with mentors more personal and more meaningful than the average mentor-mentee relationship. Mentors tend to be older than you and work with other older-than-you people.

A tough boss also has a reputation within their industry outside of the company and that too can help you when interviewing at a competitor. Once you become trusted, these bosses can turn into mentors who will teach you what they know which then opens up career options for you down the road. it does happen.

You dislike the idea of having a coach/mentor because you can (and should) handle things on your own. I have shared in articles and podcast interviews that I am a recovering workaholic, a recovering people-pleaser, and a recovering perfectionist. Teach Someone What You Know or Become a Mentor.

The only thing I would ask is that you only post articles that are your own work as I don't want to infringe on any copyright laws and that there are no references to employer or co-worker names. I interviewed a friend of mine for her expertise in minute taking and it has been one of my most popular posts.
