Find a mentor or “buddy” to help and guide you, if need be. Are my goals aligned with higher-ups, as well as with my employer? Here’s one idea: Ask to sit down with your leader and see whether the goals you’ve identified are similar or complementary (a good sign). Identify areas of improvement – and then plan how to act on them.
