It’s backbreaking work, and when they first purchased it, the place was also not making much money. But I do love my work, so I make a point to earn a fair price for the time I’m giving others. But having the self-esteem, confidence, and finding the balance is hard. Each comment builds on the other.

Your confidence takes a tumble, or you feel shame when faced with a setback because you are not performing the way you would like. You price your services too low or don't ask for a raise because you don't believe that you deserve to be paid appropriately for what you do. Maybe you have not purchased that bold outfit you know you want.

Especially when you’re inexperienced, self-esteem issues come into play – having people you respect say that you’re doing something right. Quality standards keep getting pushed up while prices get pushed down. Zero marginal cost products will approach zero in price over time. I’m not convinced.
