When you acknowledge what’s important to others, you provide a form of affirmation and validation about who they are and what they’re doing. The affirmation and validation is like nitro for their confidence and self-esteem. Ask for advice or confide in them. My favorite way to encourage someone is to boost their confidence.

Where I used to work we had a Mailroom and I would plunk what I needed in a tray with a form to tell them how I wanted it to turn out and return to get it when it was finished.
