If you meet someone at an Administrative Assistant conference, for example, make sure to follow up with that contact within a week or two after the event. If you discussed a need at the conference, be sure to address it.

Recently, we wanted to see who was off site and at what event, so we decided when people are away at conferences, etc. For instance if I was going to be away to attend a conference I would put: Pat off site (IAAP/Toronto) This way we can keep track of who is going where, when.
