I understand that our society evolves over time, but the acceptance of this might be forthcoming. It would be interesting to see how many companies would allow for this type of dress code, since quite a lot of places have client visits on a regular basis. However, for business casual and business dress environments, Im still a purist.

There are times when people come up to me and expect things to be done right away. Apparently, everyone comes to me all at the same time. Then there are times when I am bored out of my mind and start either asking others for work or updating the company database. They are there to help, since they are managing you.

That makes sense, but can this system be applied to other information, like monthly bills, tax returns, staff, legal issues, normal company information? I remember going to a walk-in clinic (doctors office) for an ailment at the time. B eing able to retrieve the data is more important than an organized alphabetized file drawer.

Ive been in offices where loud music is acceptable with people shouting over cubicles at each other, which was perfectly acceptable - it made the environment vibrant and fosters team unity. Its up to the individual to analyze this culture in addition to the individual relationships around them.
