Once a date is finalized I put it in my bosss calendar and confirm the meeting with the other participants. Much easier than searching in Outlook and less stressful.

A while back, Coopers & Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers ) released data from a poll on personal organization. Add dated or calendar items to a tickler file system or a diary as soon as they arrive. How much stuff do you have sitting on your desk or in your work area? Finding stuff on my messy desk bears out that statistic.

By starting to organize the app at a higher level I created a bit of light over the whole project. You have to subclass Calendars, Time Zones and Time Components if you want to do some fine grained date comparisons. Now I had a complete visual implementation: tasks were nicely organized by date in Today, Soon and Overdue.
