I get snail mail from credit card companies who could not possibly have my new mailing address unless they scammed it off some list. I’ve happily signed up for all kinds of email lists. I have a crazy-busy RSS feed. In the US it’s legal to sign someone up to your email list without asking their permission.

Tip #2: When writing for others, be sure to retain copyright. Here's a tip: you talk to, email several people a day. When their readers don’t actually know what they do, because they never visit the site, they simply open Google Reader or their email for the RSS feed. As of now, my website is more like a business card – something I can point prospective clients towards after I’ve already made initial contact. I think not.
