Some have lost jobs, didn’t get promotions or pay raises, or lost funding due to employer budget cuts. My advice is to grab a member and become a mentor or get mentored! Admittedly, this year has been challenging- economically and environmentally. ’ Here are a few things to think about, can you relate?

She mentors, trains, and coaches EA/AAs across the region. And they’re like, Hey, we’ve got this role that came up at the Boston Consulting Group, we found your resume that fell behind a filing cabinet as filing cabinets back then. While supporting J., And I was like, I said, No, I’m not interested.

Dear MA, Congratulations on the new role and promotion! Align yourself also means to seek out the ones who have been around the longest and get their advice, have them informally mentor you, and make sure you figure out who your boss’ stakeholders are. When is budget season, how are summers and winters different, etc.

You will see that aside from typing, Word, and Excel, some of the bigger companies will test you on logic, grammar, listening, putting together a budget, creativity, and more. Believe it or not, some assistant jobs actually prefer you have an Ivy League degree even if they ask for a career assistant or to promote them up the chain.
