It’s up to the job seeker to solicit that help by asking others for their opinions. He was asking me to evaluate a proposal he had received from a career marketing firm. He wanted my opinion because I’m a career coach–and because I myself had once been victimized by a similar firm.

Referenced on your resume and your cover letter should be the best number(s) to reach you. If you were unavailable, why did you pick up in the first place? You wouldn’t want a potential employer to think you are pursuing opportunities at the expense of your present employer. Your follow-up needs to be the same.

I work at a travel and event planning agency. Believe it or not, while some EAs do hold tremendous power, because travel is a very expensive and uncomfortable aspect of business, many executives or companies are very specific on what is or isn't allowed and which airlines they will or won't fly. Any suggestions?
