I know we are probably stuck with the current system of trying to remember log-in names and passwords, but thankfully at work if you do forget your password the administrator can re-set it, and then you have the option of changing it again. I keep mine in an encrypted Word file on my computer. Back to the drawing board. Works so far!

Once a date is finalized I put it in my bosss calendar and confirm the meeting with the other participants. When a meeting is finalized, I put the scheduling sheet in a completed file. Be professional on the phone and greet people who come calling, but not everyone needs to get in to see the boss. Be one step ahead of your boss. Be protective of your boss’s time. Dealing in real time.

I use hanging file folders labelled from January through to December. Every afternoon before I leave for the day, I go through the hanging file for that month to see if there is anything I need to bring forward for the next day. A tip she passed along had to do with the bring-forward system and has been a great tool for me.

If that is not happening, schedule yourself in their calendar. Keep up to date on their calendar and look ahead to see what is coming up and what your boss might need to prepare for that. Put reminders in their Tasks or Calendar of anything you know is coming up with enough lead time so they will have time to complete it.

Ctrl + Home moves the cursor to the beginning of the open file or document and Ctrl + End moves the cursor to the end of the open file or document, but if you are in the middle of a document and want to select everything from there down, press Ctrl + Shift + End or if you want to select everything from there up, press Ctrl + Shift + Home.
