I have enjoyed the teachings of most of these ladies over the years and am thrilled to be participating with them and look forward to learning from them too. Not surprisingly, many of the comments, including mine, were in favour of a chance to go on paid professional development.

There is a local chapter for IAAP but I don't find it to have the content and structure that I'm looking for. You can go with the purpose of learning what they offer in the program and to network with others. Perhaps after some smart negotiating you can have it worked into the budget for future years. Toastmasters!

Some have lost jobs, didn’t get promotions or pay raises, or lost funding due to employer budget cuts. So you can’t attend every workshop or seminar, surf the internet, there are many FREE programs available online at sites like HP Learning Center and Microsoft. This was a very busy year for me.

On that note, It is hard to believe we are getting close to Administrative Professionals Day which is on April 22 nd.
