Not long ago, I got an email asking for advice. This person was negotiating a new contract to host a podcast. But this email really rubbed me the wrong way. Phrases like “I know you’ve got a lot going on …” or “Sorry to hit you up for advice when you are probably slammed” go a long way. Actually, that sounds harsh.
