.   By way of comparison, the SBA chart below shows small business closure and startup rates between 1990-2015.      On average about 8% of small businesses closed each year between 1990 and 2015 and 10% closed at the height of the Great Recession in 2009. Q2 GDP is -30%, Q3 +7% and Q4 +12%.

Tracking the Digital Nomad Trend

As you can see from the chart below, the use of the term "digital nomad" started to gain traction in the 2008-2009 time frame. The number of citations has accelerated since, with Google reporting more hits on this term this month (January 2015) than all of 2010.
