I worked hard at that job and was rewarded with a promotion to Account Manager in 2006, yay! Junior PA: Booking travel and hotels for colleagues . Taking minutes, writing agendas and attending meetings. The role also had some PA tasks but was mainly admin. Sorting and distributing post. Helping with projects.

To many work is the central activity in their lives and the stresses and pressures of todays workplace are enormous, overtime, project pressure, sales targets, travel to and from the place of work, to name but a few. Endless hours of travel to and from the work place, meetings, office heating, and so on could be a thing of the past.

In 1999 I was still office based, traveled from one of our offices around the world to the next and was rarely home. Dino Said on December 22nd, 2008 at 3:42 am I agree , I too work at home and I love it , no rigid dress code , no claustrophobic cubicle and no stress generating travel from home to work office. I have appointments in my agenda and tasks to be done. It is also the reason I love to travel with little planning ahead. It also makes you a very open person, because the next traveller you meet might just point you to the next great thing you can freely visit because no plans are holding you back.

Most of the time, digital friendships last as long as the underlying hidden agenda’s of both parties last. I also like to travel, that’s why I’m going to Nepal on Monday…for one month…interacting with real people. Now before I travel, I make sure I don’t cross the path of another blogger friend.

After all, you can’t please everybody and everyone has their own agenda. Even soldiers believe they’re serving their countries, when they may only be furthering the agenda of a dictator. I also had no idea that you were a soldier. Great article Dragos. I love how you intertwine your experiences with life lessons.

If it’s a friendship, see if the person at the end is not having any hidden agendas which will break up the validation process at some point. If it’s a personal relationship you’ll see if the other person is empowering you or is trying to confine you in a vicious circle. Rewind and start over.
