The staffing agent asked if I was open to temp to perm, even though the position was for a full time EA, he feels the CEO may need time to see if it is a good fit. I have no idea how long "temp" is considered before they would offer the permanent position. It feels like a bait and switch and there are no guarantees.

And I started in the company as a temp worker in 2004. It was one of my first jobs out of college actually and I started answering phone calls for the call center so that’s where my history with Zappos started. I've heard of EAs who are promoted to Operations or Facilities roles later on in their careers but at this point, I am playing both roles. EA work is typically admin work - phones, travels, calendars, expense reports, mtgs/luncheons, etc. The amount of skill, pressure, stress, and problem solving differs at each of those levels.

It’s a contradiction in that we want to use the vehicle to promote ourselves, but that same vehicle is used for piracy. In the Quebec music industry, I tend to see many artists helping each other out, playing together, promoting events together… truly joining together to be one group of people who believe in what they do.
