The system I use is quite simple and has been around for a long time.

Polish up the ol resume It is all right to send your resume out and see what kind of response you get. In this new age of not doing anything more than a quick spell check on documents, make sure you do not have any spelling mistakes in your resume. Job satisfaction is important. They are interested, now what? the next day!

I have a similar system with my boss. I put travel in red and action reminders in yellow, but that is our own system and it works for us. but I don't use that system or know what the colours mean.
