She helped the “ Moonstruck ” star get out of traffic, review contracts, and take care of her family. Using her network and experience to go off on her own When Dukakis turned 80, Low-Kramen gave her four months’ notice, promising to help interview and train her replacement.

The gentleman on the call introduced himself as a consultant with a well-known local staffing agency who had reviewed the resume I had uploaded to the organization's website. I have also participated in several fruitful phone screens, and I have an onsite interview scheduled in the coming days.

Even if you aren't that aggressive in marketing yourself while you have a job, it's likely that previous companies that interviewed you or HR people that you knew will remember you and keep you in their database. You will find yourself having to juggle an interview schedule and working to continue networking or to not get bored.

When you interview for new jobs, do your yearly job performance reviews, network, or whenever appropriate, make it clear you have bigger goals. Even when a company is downsizing or merging, there’s a lot of opportunity for contract roles or temp gigs to help them thru the transition. 2) Make it clear you have bigger goals.

My question however, is… should I disclose the reason for my termination in my job interviews? While I realize you also worked for an SVP, the disapproving lady seems to have some input, if not a lot, on your performance review because she is in charge of all the admins and also works for the CEO. 4) Start temping immediately.

Other jobs, because they were temp to full time, I didn’t even have the benefits of paid vacation time or paid sick days for almost a year. It always perplexes me when small companies do not hire a temp or have in mind another staff person to fill in for the admin or EA to go on a vacation or call in sick.
