I would ask how long the temp status was for, and negotiate a deal that makes sense for you to not have sick days, paid holidays, benefits, etc. I’d see my co-worker and the spouse at the grocery store, at the local sushi restaurant, etc. The spouse who hired me would mentor me heavily so I’d be successful; this was paramount.
