As assistants we don’t need to reinvent the wheel – if we have a great network of other assistants we can ask others how they have done things, if they can suggest the right supplier or put you in contact with a great hotel. Being able to pick the brains of other assistants in a similar situation is so incredibly helpful.

Salary and bonuses are taxed differently to dividends. If possible, get some advice from your accountant regarding the level of pay you plan on taking from the business. Research the going rate for CEOs in your industry. Learn about how your company structure affects pay. Don’t pay yourself too much or you will harm the company.

So now I had my supplier with whom by this stage I had built up a good base for a trustworthy supplier by way of emails. Get your suppliers to advertise in it! The average salary in her country is $200-$300/month. As the business would grow, so I would increase the range I offered. I am not her only employer though.
