A well organised travel itinerary is an essential service that assistants can provide for their managers. Additionally if you have equipped your manager with all of the information they need to deal with any emergencies, they will be able to cope without you being there to help, particularly if they are in a different time zone.

Assistants can also recommend all of the apps to their manager. This app is slightly expensive but worth paying for if your manager travels a lot. There are dozens of free travel guide apps and I do think it is worthwhile adding them to your manager’s device while they are abroad. FlightTrack: £2.99 for Pro version.

I use my iPhone every day and I’ve found there are loads of apps which are really helpful for assistants and their managers, most of which probably have either an iPhone or an iPad. This app is slightly more expensive but worth paying for if your manager travels a lot. Love this app for myself and my manager. FlightTrack: £2.99
