This person can work in a coffee shop, in a library, in airports or train stations. I think 75% of my work right now is writing (in the form of blog posts, blog comments or ebooks). But there is an important 25% which is made by consulting time, programming or interaction (email or social media).

Digital friends have an avatar and a status Instead of a body and a voice, most of the time you will identify a digital friend by the avatar they use on various social media sites, and by their status. Use social media functions with trust: retweet, like, promote. Get used to it, it’s not necessarily a bad thing.

This hydration approach is very different form person to person. These days we are witnessing the power of social media broadcast range.

If you’re into social media, you know what I mean. All of these are forms of the “look, something shiny syndrome”. Regarding shiny objects and facebook … I agree with your assessment in terms of “social media for fun&# stuff … but FB can also be a valuable marketing and “creating an image&# tool.

What’s funny about getting that job is that I never had any specific training for that. In a few days we completed a small training. Nothing fancy, just a lot of windows, menus and forms. Sometimes validation comes in form of money. Sometimes it comes in form of emotional support. Or even Delicious and Digg?

Set aside the services we offer, strip away the great ebooks, the recommended resources, everything but the content. It was free because it was idle; it wasn’t supposed to be the sort of business expertise that many companies would shell out good money for in the form of a consultant. I think we are already seeing ebooks move to free.

Failure to pay as agreed is a particularly bad form of feedback, but I’ve often seen clients use it that way. When training young people in ad agencies I always coach them to start with the positives, with the things they like and that are on target, then their comments will be better received and will have context.
