I think a lot of my self-esteem and self-confidence is due to exercising. For example, a girlfriend breaking up with you or an upcoming high school reunion can definitely make a guy want to get fit! But when they do, it will definitely be worth it. And I ran the Chicago marathon back in 2002.

As you can see, I’m trying to avoid a black and white definition of a life with or without illusions. If you’re usually a shy guy, and that is your real nature (that’s nothing wrong with being shy, by the way) and you get into a personal relationship which will feed your self-esteem, you will accomplish a lot of stuff.
